The Glenn Family Bakery is located in Sarasota and was founded in 2013 by Chef Lisa Glenn. They offer a vast selection of delicious artisanal baked goods. The Bakery includes two generations in the Glenn Family: Chef Lisa and Chef John, and then their two children who have apprenticed and are following in the family’s footsteps.
The Bakery uses only the highest quality of ingredients and they use no preservatives in their foods. Their bakery includes appetizing goods such as the following: batch breads, cheesecakes, cookies, muffins, cakes, sweets, and more.
The Glenn Bakery has a secured relationship with the famous New-York bagel baker, Davidovich Bakery. They are the exclusive distributor for Pinellas, Manatee, and Sarasota Counties.
Objectives
The goal of this project was to design a simplified website with a clear message about what their Bakery offers to Sarasota and the surrounding counties. This project included but was not limited to these categories:

A way to set this Bakery apart from the dozens of others that reside in and around Sarasota was to highlight their unique process of their sprouted-grain bread. Also placing a specific spotlight on the benefits that sprouted grain bread brings.
Their small business relies heavily on community opportunities, such as the farmers markets throughout Sarasota. A large part of this project was ensuring their social network feeds were compatible across all platforms. This allowed for the collaboration between the Bakery and farmers markets to run smoothly.
Custom Photography
Capturing high-quality photography of their products, kitchen, dining area, and storefront. The goal being for the Bakery to be able to optimize these images across website, print, and social network outreach.
Custom Website Design and Development
We needed to accommodate the growing mobile browsing market by employing responsive website design that included the following:
- Breakpoints for Tablets and Phones
- Optimized Images for Phones
- Tap-to-Call Buttons for Phones
As with most new-age businesses being able to offer a “customized” option for the products sold is appealing. Featuring on the homepage is a “Customize Your Order” section where their clients can list specific needs, desires, or allergens their clients might have.
With this customizable option for retail clients, they also provide customized quotes for Wholesalers as well. A wholesale form can be found at the bottom of the home page, that will in turn be emailed to the Glenn Family each time a request is put in.
